You might have heard a lot about the ongoing debate between LCD and LED TV’s. There are a few points of comparisons between the two that might help you choose between the two. If you take the physical attributes of both into consideration, the LED TV is lighter than the LCD TV. It is sleeker, more elegant looking and it also weighs lesser. LED TV’s have a glossy screen that does not only look good, but provides clearer picture and is also more durable.

When it comes to display, LED beats LCD TV’s. The LED backlight displays blacks and colors brilliantly. The contrast in LED TV’s is also greater than in any other TV. But the refresh rate and response time of both the TVs is quite similar, which means the sharpness of the picture in both the TVs might be quite similar. The LED TV’s also consume less energy than LCD TVs ensuring that you have less to spend on your electricity bill!

But there are some cons of owning an LED too. The LED TV’s are priced quite high. It is the latest innovation in the field of TVs and it’s still in its infant stage, which means that the supply of LED TV’s is quite less. This in turn, increases the price of the product too. Another disadvantage is the size- most LED TV’s are above 40”, which means that you would need a room that is proportionately big enough for you to have it.

So, in conclusion, it can be said that while LED TV’s are certainly better when it comes to picture quality, looks and convenience. If you are content with having such a huge TV in your house and you are able to afford it, then there’s no reason why you should not buy an LED TV.
